The chapter's vision is not only to increase in numbers, but to increase the quality of service architects in the chapter can give to clients, the society and the country.

MISSION STATEMENT

Professional Progress. The Chapter's mission is to encourage progress in every chapter member so that every member excels not only in his profession, but, if possible, in every aspect of his professional life.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CHAPTER

Sometime in 1980, Arch. Elmor V. Vita had crossed into an article on United Architects of the Philippines official newsletter, stated that “The Parañaque City Building Official is an Architect and a member in good standing of United Architects of the Philippines”.  To keep the article a fact, he immediately registered himself as member of UAP.  From then, he posted an announcement to invite Architects from Parañaque to form a chapter.  He did not get any members from that post.  He was determined to form the chapter so he got a list of Architects residing in Parañaque from the UAP.  He went to their homes and fetched each one of them during their meetings.  The Parañaque-Palanyag Chapter Chapter’s humble beginnings were at a restaurant located somewhere on Kabihasnan Road in Old Parañaque, formerly called Palanyag, afterwhich the Chapter got its name. Formed in June 29, 1982 with Archt. Elmor V. Vita as Charter President and then Cong. Freddie Webb as a guest of honor, the event was held at the Nayon Silangan Restaurant along Dr. A. Santos Ave. The Chapter’s official chartering was on July 6, 1984 under the leadership of District Director Archt. Jaime C. Marquez. It was the third to be chartered in Region VII (B-3).

The Chapter has been known for its ability to rise up from the ashes of inactivity to robust activity. Being a chapter located in a big city composed of two districts may be an obstacle, but it does not impede the members from growing together, taking pride in belonging to an organization committed to the growth of the profession, and giving service to the community.

With this intrinsic character, the chapter embarked on a special event that would bring colleagues together in a more congenial atmosphere. With friendly competition in mind, badminton was born, The Chapter’s first badminton tournament open was held in September 20, 2003. The Chapter actively participates in sports tournaments, including badminton, billiards and more.

The Chapter attends UAP National events consistently with sizable number of delegates. Several members also represent or have represented the chapter in UAP National Committees and events. The Chapter has 105 members in “good standing” to date and counting. Encouraging new and old members alike, Parañaque-Palanyag Chapter is known for its unique camaraderie and attitude of volunteerism.

We know both to be true but nevertheless the chapter throughout its history has always stood for pride and integrity. Notwithstanding the numerous obstacles such as the years of "dormancy" as well as the difficulties of time, travel and poor communication which beset the municipality at that time. The chapter has always embodied and personified the words "United" and "Architect".
